Client Objective: Ladies Toilet Refurbishment

Artreum Group was appointed to deliver a full refurbishment of the ladies’ toilet facilities at the University of Law, located within Temple Circus in Bristol City Centre. The objective was to revitalise the existing space, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal while ensuring compliance with modern standards and improving the overall user experience.

The project involved the transformation of outdated facilities into a clean, contemporary, and durable environment suited to a high-traffic educational setting.

Our scope of work included:

• Strip-Out & Enabling Works – Isolation, decommissioning, and removal of existing sanitaryware including toilet pans, cisterns, basins, and sensor taps, alongside associated finishes and redundant fixtures.
• Mechanical & Plumbing Upgrades – Installation of new pipework elements where required, including upgraded isolation valves, TMVs, and connections to support new sanitary fittings.
• Wall & Surface Preparation – Making good to walls including boarding, filling, and tape jointing where fixtures had been removed, ensuring a seamless finish ready for decoration.
• Sanitaryware Installation – Supply and installation of new toilet pans, concealed cisterns, basins, and sensor-operated taps to improve hygiene and efficiency.
• Boxing & Joinery – Construction of new and refurbished IPS boxing and vanity units, including tiled finishes to create a clean and robust appearance.
• Floor & Wall Finishes – Installation of durable, slip-resistant flooring and high-quality wall finishes suitable for commercial washroom environments.
• Ceilings & Ventilation – Adjustments and integration of ceiling services, including ventilation grilles and associated fittings to maintain airflow and compliance.
• Decoration – Application of specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, and joinery to achieve a modern, long-lasting finish.
• Fixtures & Fittings – Installation of washroom accessories including dispensers, mirrors, and ancillary fittings to complete the facility.

The completed refurbishment delivers a refreshed, modern washroom environment that enhances hygiene, durability, and user comfort, while aligning with the University’s standards and providing a significant uplift to the overall facility.
